Abstract: Objective To analyze the significance of Neopterin detection for screening blood donors by tested the serum Neopterin levels in virus negative and positive serum samples.Methods The virus markers（HBsAg,anti-HCV,anti-HIV and syphilis） were screened using different ELISA kits for dual hole detection. According to the results,the serum samples were divided into normal,single-positive and double-positive groups（50 cases in each group randomly）.Totally 150 samples were used to detect the Neopterin levels via ELISA kits.Results Compared with the normal group,the Neopterin levels in single-positive and double-positive groups were significantly elevated,meanwhile,the differences between groups also had statistical significance（P<0.01）.ConclusionSerum Neopterin concentration was significantly increased in different condition of viral infection samples,which was feasible for screening blood donors.
