Abstract: Objective To investigate the change and related factors of serum nesfatin-1 level in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).Methods erum nesfatin-1 concentration was examined in 32 T2DM patients without NAFLD (T2DM group),32 T2DM patients with NAFLD (T2DM-NAFLD group) and 30 cases of normal control (NC group). The influencing factors for nesfatin-1 were analyzed. Results Compared with the other two groups, serum nesfatin-1 concentration was the lowest in T2DM-NAFLD group(P<0.05 or P<0.01). TG and WC were the independent related factors for nesfatin-1(P<0.05 or P<0.01) Conclusion Serum nesfatin-1 concentration obviously declined in elderly T2DM patients with NAFLD,which may be involved in the development of IR and NAFLD.
