Abstract: Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of plasmapheresis in treatment of acute hyperlipidemic pancreatitis (AHP). Methods A total of 16 AHP patients in the hospital between 2015 and 2016 were collected and treated with therapeutic plasmapheresis. The levels of triglyceride (TG),amylase (AMY) and lipase (LPS) before and after treatments were examined. Results Sixteen AHP patients who received plasmapheresis with the average of 3 treatments,2000 mL for each, showed significant decreases in TG (11.96±5.66 mmol/L vs 3.56±1.06 mmol/L),AMY (259.14±173.40 IU/L vs 41.71 ±25.25 IU/L),and LPS (341.92±257.10 IU/L vs 43.5±19.54 IU/L) (P<0.05). Conclusion Therapeutic plasma exchange is an effective method for treatment of acute hyperlipidemic pancreatitis.
