Abstract: Objective To investigate the correlation between serum levels of DKK1 and β2-microglobulin and the multiple myeloma disease progress. Methods Sixty-six patients with multiple myeloma were selected as study group, and sixty-six healthy subjects were selected as control group. The serum levels of Wnt pathway inhibitor Dickkopf-1 (DKK1) and beta2-microglobulin were measured, and their associations with the incidence of multiple myeloma were analyzed. Results ① The serum levels of DKK1 and β2-microglobulin in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). ② The differences of serum DKK1 and β2-microglobulin in different myeloma patients were statistically significant (P<0.05); After multiple comparison, the serum levels of DKK1 and β2-microglobulin in stage II and III were all higher than those in stage I (P<0.05),and the levels of DKK1 and β2-microglobulin in stage III were all higher than those in stage II (P<0.05). ③The difference of serum DKK1 and β2-microglobulin in different stages was statistically significant (P <0.05); After multiple comparison, the serum levels of DKK1 and β2-microglobulin in patients in renal insufficiency stage were higher than those in other periods (P<0.05). Serum DKK1 and β2-microglobulin levels in patients in early stage and recurrence stage were higher than those in clinical remission stage (P<0.05). Conclusion Serum DKK1 and β2-microglobulin levels are positively correlated to the severity of multiple myeloma. The detection of the two markscan effectively evaluate the patient's condition
