Abstract: Objective To detect immunoglobulins and C3 and C4 in children with hand-foot-mouth disease so as to evaluate the immune status of the patients. Methods One hundred and two cases of children with hand-foot-mouth disease, including 47 cases of mild manifestations 55 cases of severe manifestations and 30 cases of healthy children Serum IgA,IgG,IgM,C3,and C4 levels were examined. Results A statistical significance (P<0.05) was noted among the three groups of children, and the child patients presented high levels of IgM and IgG antibodies compared with the healthy control. IgA,C3,and C4 levels was lower than those of healthy children. Conclusion The immune status of children with hand-foot-mouth disease produced a remarkable immunity against the virus infection, which may help for the early diagnosis and clinical managements.
