Abstract: ObjectiveELISA detection for anti HCV was compared with fluorescent PCR detection for HCV RNA in blood bank so as to evaluate the necessity of the fluorescent PCR detection for the safety ensurance of clinical blood transfusion. Methods149200 blood samples were collected to detect the hepatitis C virus from April 31 , 2014 to May 1 , 2013. ResultsELISA detection showed 610 cases of positive anti- HCV specimens , and 148590 cases of negative specimens.. Among the 610 positive cases fluorescent PCR test gave rise to 490 cases of positive HCV-RNA(80.32%,49 / 610);in 148 590 samples with negative anti-HCV 298 cases were identified for HCV-RNA by fluorescent PCR test. (0.2%,298 /148 590). ConclusionAdditional application of HCV RNA detection to the individuals who exhibited negative results of anti -HCV tested by ELISA for may ensure the safety of clinical blood transfusion.
