Abstract: Objective To study the correlation between HLA-DRB1 gene and end-stage renal disease in Hebei Han population,and to find the susceptibility genes of patients with end-stage renal disease. Methods HLA-DRB1 typing was performed on 490 patients with end-stage renal disease by polymerase chain reaction-specific primers （PCR-SSP）. The frequency was calculated by direct counting method. Haldane's correction formula was used to calculate the relative risk of the HLA-DRB1 gene to the disease. The significance of RR was calculated by Fisher's exact P-value method and then corrected by multiplied the number of antigens. Results 13 HLA-DRB1 alleles were detected in 490 patients with end-stage renal disease. The highest allele was DRB1*15 （0.167 347）,followed by DRB1*04 （0.129 592）,DRB1*12 （0.126 531 DRB1*04 （0.082 776）,DRB1*11 （0.088 776）,DRB1*14 （0.082 653）,tested significance of RR found that the DRB1*04,DRB1*12,DRB1*14 gene significantly associated with end stage renal disease occurrence while the DRB1*09 have a protective effect on the of end stage renal disease. Conclusion DRB1*04,DRB1*12 and DRB1*14 are the susceptibility genes of end-stage renal disease in Hebei Han nationality,while DRB1*09 is a protective gene.
