Genetic Polymorphism Analysis of Human Platelet Antigen 15 in Kazak Blood Donors from Urumqi,China

Abstract: Objective To investigate the genetic polymorphism of HPA-15 alleles in Kazak blood donors from Urumqi area and to provide valuable data for clinical platelet transfusion. Method sHPA-15 system genotype was determined by PCR-SSP method in 100 Kazak blood donors from Urumqi. The frequencies of gene and genotype were calculated and compared with that in other areas. Results The frequencies of HPA-15aa,HPA-15ab and HPA-15bb in Kazak blood donors were 0.21,0.53 and 0.26,respectively. The gene frequency of HPA-15a and HPA-15b were 0.475 and 0.525,respectively. The frequencies of antigen incompatibility of HPA-15a and HPA-15b were 0.1997 and 0.1747,respectively. Conclusion The frequency of antigen incompatibility of HPA-15 is higher,which indicate HPA-15 may increase the probability of human platelet alloimmunization and may play an important role in clinical platelet transfusion.
