Abstract

Abstract: Objective To investigate the occult hepatitis virus （OBI）infection in blood donors in Shaoguan. Methods All samples were screened for HBsAg，anti-HCV，and HIV antibodies by EIAs. Meanwhile，HBV DNA，HCV and HIV-1 RNA were tested by NAT（nucleic acid test）.Viral loads of HBsAg-/HBV DNA+ samples were quantified by QPCR，and BCP/PC and S were amplified by Nest-PCR .HBV genotype were detected and analyzed. Results 19 samples with normal ALT were detected as HBsAg-/HBV DNA+ in 18030 blood donators，NAT yielded 1：949. All samples were defined as normal in ALT test. 16 were classified as OBIs with a relevance ratio of 1：1126，11 samples were genotype B and 2 samples were genotype C，5 samples were undetectable. Conclusion NAT screening can improve transfusion safety.
