Compilation of Voluntary Blood Donation Intention Questionnaire and Examination of Its Reliability and Validity

Abstract

Abstract: Objective To construct a reliable and effective questionnaire for assessment of the blood donation intention in community residents and to explore its influence factors based on the Theory of Planned Behavior for formulating donation recruitment strategy. Method sThe good-poor analysis,stepwise regression analysis,correlation analysis,Cronbach's ɑanalysis,and factor analysis were used to evaluate the items. Cronbach's alpha coefficient and confirmatory factor analysis was used to evaluate the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. Results The voluntary blood donation intention questionnaire was composed of 9 dimensions and 23 items. Alpha coefficient of total questionnaire was 0.889 and 0.644 to 0.917 for each dimension. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the questionnaire fitted well. Conclusion Each item of this questionnaire has satisfied sensitivity,independence and representativeness. The high reliability and validity of this questionnaire can be used to assess the donation intention of community residents.
