Abstract: Standardizing and strengthening the continuing education of blood station staff are important measures to improve the overall quality of blood station and ensure the safety of blood transfusion. This article analyzed the necessity of continuing education of blood station staff and proposed five essential points of continuing education, including transfusion related laws and regulations, non-remunerated blood donation, the basic knowledge of blood transfusion medicine, trends of transfusion medicine and humanity character education. The continuous and effective education and training of blood station staff will help accelerating the development of transfusion medicine in China to a great extent.
