Abstract: Objective To explore the diagnostic value of combined detections of serum inflammatory factors in the patients with atherosclerosis. Methods One hundred and fifty-five cases of atherosclerosis were selected for the observation in the hospital and 100 healthy people, as the control. Serum inflammatory factors were detected and the levels of IL-6, CRP, sICAM-1, Lp-PLA2 and apoB were compared between the two groups. ROC curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of combined detections of the inflammatory factors. Results The levels of IL-6, CRP, Lp-PLA2, sICAM-1 and apoB in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that IMT of atherosclerotic patients were positively correlated with the levels of serum IL-6, CRP, Lp-PLA2, sICAM-1 and apoB (P<0.05). For the individual detection of each factor, CRP had the largest AUC (0.868), with the highest specificity(91%), and the highest sensitivity (91%) of sICAM-1 was also noted. Combined detections resulted in the highest AUC (0.929). Conclusion The Results of combined detections of serum inflammatory factors are related to the progress of atherosclerosis. CRP is a useful marker for the diagnosis of atherosclerosis.
